Like a cursed princess

A while ago I stitched this card for a friends birth day. It is not a classical bday card of course but I came across this design in one of my Cross Stitching Card Shop magazines when I was searching for a nice card for her. Stitching on dark Aida is quite a nice experience as it looks so neat and nice.

Been busy stitching

I've been quite busy stitching for the last three weeks. Just can't stop and have so many things I want to do! At the moment I'm working on another sheep-pictue, "Baaaattle of Hastings" where some sheeps are standing on the battle field with shields and flaggs and stuff.

I'm really in love with the elephant card, I guess I'll stitch some more of them. I like the colours as they're so seventies though I guess it would as look great in green and yellow or violet/pink.

I finally finished my Mums birthday present yesterday evening! Was such a good feeling to be finally done after almost exactly 60 hours! 60 hours... That's one and a half working week.... Two and a half day... And as I often watch movies or series while stitching I put it into that context. 60 hours are all episodes of Are you being served?, Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister. Including all the Christmas specials. Or Downton Abbey Series one and two watched four times! Crazy, isn't it?

I'm quite proude that I finished it in time and I'm sure Mum will like it. Or at least I hope so ;-)

I said that I won't stitch a single stitch for at least two weeks now. But yesterday my Cross Stitching Card Shop magazine arrived.... I still want to stitch some stuff from the last one.... I'd love to stitch some "Keep calm and ..." and create small poetry to hang on the fridge. I already have the pattern ready for bookmarks for a friend and spent quite some time with an Obelix-pattern for my father. When should I stitch all of that???????

Keep calm and....

I thought my bestie needs some cheering up and so I spontaniousely created a card/bookmark for her yesterday. I found the pattern for the crown online and created the writing myself. I know it is not really like the original but I didn't found a smaller crown and coulden't make bigger letters cause I was affraid it wouldn't fit on a post card.

It was quite quickly done, I guess one of the quickest card ever. It took me half an hour to stitch the card and about 45 for the writing. Well, plus about 15 to correct a great writing mistake.... As stitching is much easyer from right to left I started with the last letter of each word and stitched my way to the first one. After stitching the two G I somehow lost track and added an E and a R.... Regger...! I only noticed it when I wanted to cut the fabric to the right size....

I somehow like this card and guess I'll create some more like a "Keep calm and knit on" for my mum. But I won't copy this one as it is just for my bestie.

Silly me, I often forget to take pictures of the cards I make. Like the b-day-card for my bestie... But here is one card I made a month or so ago for a friends b-day.

The idea came from the Cross Stitching Card Shop magazine, though I mixed various cards to get this one. The actual idee was to get the happy Birthday into the small sign but then somethin was missing on the top, so I made the sign a bit smaller, filled it with Happy B-day and wrote Happy Birthday at the top. I love writing while stitching.

I love stitching! Really do as it calms me down and is the best thing to keep my hands busy while watching movies. I'm too impatient to just watch, I always have to do something and stitching is not that distracting.I have a subscription of an English cross stitching magazine and when I'm in the mood for bigger projects I order the stuff online.

I was quite busy these last weeks! Right now I'm working on a flower-picture for my mum for her birthday or for mothers day (which is not like in the UK in March but in May, so there is still some time)
